Embedded World: DigiKey, NXP launch MCX MCU Design Contest

At the embedded show in Nuremberg, DigiKey and NXP Semiconductors have formally launched their MCX MCU Design Contest.

Entrants must use NXP’s new FRDM development boards, featuring its MCX N and MCX A series MCUs, to submit design ideas and projects for a chance to win a variety of prizes.

These include a grand prize package of a 14-inch MacBook Pro, an Apple Watch Series 9 and AirPods Pro. The second prize is an e-bike, and the third prize is a $750 DigiKey gift card. Twenty-five runners-up will also be selected to receive “swag packages”.


The contest runs from 8 April to 20 May 2024 (with final projects then submitted by July 31), and then DigiKey and NXP will select the winners by 15 August.

“We are excited to launch this design contest with NXP and look forward to the acceleration of ideas from developers using NXP’s FRDM development platform featuring the new MCX MCU portfolio,” said David Sandys, Digikey’s senior director of technical marketing.

“Partnering with NXP on a program like this supports engineers and designers and rewards them for designing without bounds using new, highly-integrated microcontrollers.”
